how to use

  • Ensure surfaces are clean.
  • Apply a layer of masking tape along the perimeter line where Selleys S601 Silicone Sealant to be applied.
  • Cut cartridge tip with a knife or blade and insert into caulking gun.
  • Attach nozzle on cartridge and cut the nozzle tip at 45 degree angle.
  • Apply on needed surface and, smoothen with a scraper or spatula.
  • Once applied, peel of the masking tape along the perimeters for a clean finishing and leave the sealant to dry for at least 6-8 hours.

Limitations:

  • Cannot be painted over.
  • Not suitable for aquariums or drinking water containers.
  • Not suitable for permanent water immersion or areas of high abrasion.

handy tips:

  • Each cartridge covers approx 15 lineal meters/5mm bead.
  • Complete painting before applying sealant as it cannot be painted over.
  • Store unopened sealant below 27°C in a dry area. Use within 12 months of purchase.

clean up:

  • While the sealant is still wet, clean off excess sealant with a cloth soaked with acetone.
  • Cured adhesive/sealant is extremely difficult to remove and must be abraded or trimmed with a knife.
